Board of Directors

As specified in the club bylaws, Savoy Swing Club is governed by an executive board of directors, consisting of four officers (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer), other elected positions such as Membership Coordinator, Marketing Manager and Events Coordinator, and an appointed Instructor Coordinator. The executive board is elected by a majority vote of the membership. Terms are served April 1st through March 31st.

President
Gina Keppel
Gina has been dancing since 2002 and active in the Seattle swing scene since moving here in 2004 to attend graduate school. In addition to lindy hop, Gina also loves balboa/bal-swing and blues, and regularly attends workshops and exchanges locally and around the country for all of these dances. Gina works at the University of Washington in public health research and maintains a balanced personal life while social dancing regularly in Seattle. She previously served at SSC secretary and is excited about continuing to support Savoy Swing Club and Seattle dancing.
Vice President
Justin Hill
Justin formerly served as SSC's Instruction Coordinator. Justin has a passion for vintage jazz dances, and is an avid balboa dancer.
Secretary
Claire Burke
Claire has been dancing for three years -- and volunteering at dance events nearly as long. In addition to running the Monday night dances at Sonny's Claire has been heavily involved with the UW Swing Kids and with Camp Jitterbug 2008.
Treasurer
Colin Hay
Bio to come.
Oliver Lundt is our "unofficial" financial consultant! He has worked for the Dept of Revenue and is very familiar with state laws and taxes.
Marketing Director
Lee Broxson
Lee began his long and sordid dance career in January of 2007, only to eventually become the greatest instructor, dancer, and performer in the world (some time in the hypothetical future). Initially compelled to go dancing by nothing short of divine will and a chance to meet lots of "hot chicks", Lee became hooked nearly immediately, and has not gone more than a week without dancing since. Lee has won dozens of dance competitions that you've likely never heard of and that probably don't exist. While known for often swearing more than is acceptable during any given dance, Lee's vocabulary is indeed filled with things other than colorful metaphors. Lee is the Marketing Director for the Savoy Swing Club, and is also heavily involved in behind-the-scenes work for the Seattle dance community, including the 2009 Camp Jitterbug, 2009 Seattle Lindy Exchange, and Killer Diller Weekend 2008. Lee also practices and performs with the local Seattle performance troupe 'Swing-Amajig'.
Events Coordinator
Anna Blair
Anna is an active and passionate member of the Seattle swing and blues dancing community in Seattle. She also still holds love in her heart for Bellingham, where she lived before moving to Seattle in 2008.
Membership Coordinator
Daniel Newsome
Dan has been dancing since he was 20 years old. In the past decade (and the some) he has social danced, competed, djed, organized, taught and built community.  He prides himself on his historical knowledge and his ability to create community that is inviting to all levels of dancers.  He currently coaches the SSC competition team, teaches the Monday night beginner classes with SSC, dances as much as he can in Seattle, and travels around the country both to teach and to observe what is successful with regards to community building worldwide.  He enjoys being involved, and has even been known to smile on rare occasions.   If you have questions about obtaining a membership, renewing a membership, or membership benefits contact him at membership@savoyswing.org.
Webmaster
Brett Nakashima
Brett Nakashima
Brett has been dancing for several years. He has transitioned from being our instructor coordinator to our official web-guru!  If you experience any problems with the site, message him at webmaster@savoyswing.org
