Welcome back to the Speakeasy at Savoy, where Seattle’s swing dance scene bursts to life with music, laughter, and an all-welcome vibe. Whether it’s your very first step or your thousandth swing-out, you’ve got a place on the floor.
Kick off the night with Elaine and Stefan for Fast Swingout Bootcamp! Bring your water bottles and shoes with a bit of grip. We'll be working up to swinging out at 240bpm so you can dance the iconic Lindy Hop anthem, Jumpin' at the Woodside!
Prerequisites: Must have working knowledge of swingouts and comfortable with swingouts at 180 bpm.

Speakeasy at Savoy
We at Savoy Swing Club are thrilled to introduce our brand-new schedule: Speakeasy at Savoy! Instead of weekly socials, we’ll now be hosting a monthly dance and workshop event with a live music social every second Friday, starting September 12th.
This month we’re collaborating with What the Blues and Blues Underground in a celebration of Blues! The night kicks off with a workshop taught by Robin Chow of What the Blues followed by LIVE MUSIC with Di & the Blue Hearts! You can even snag a free Blues Underground voucher at the class that gets you a discount into a Blues Underground event of your choice!
What does it mean to dance the Blues? Blues dancing emerged from African-American communities in the South, rooted in West African traditions and influenced by European styles. It’s an improvisational, expressive dance focused on partner connection and natural movement, evolving alongside blues music. Styles like the sensual Slow Drag, sharp Jukin’, and gliding Ballroomin’ reflect its diversity. Still danced today, it celebrates Black heritage, creativity, and community.

Casi is an artist of many mediums. Her background in music, performance, and visual arts all inform her musicality and playful dance style. As a teacher, she emphasizes comfortable technique and individual expression.
