Tuesday Workshops Fall 2022
Nov 8 – Dec 6 (4-week curriculum)
“Find Your Dance! Intro to Partner Dancing, Made Easy!”
Instructors: Nancy Fry & Guy Caridi
Here is your perfect opportunity to learn how to dance! No previous partner dance experience is needed as we offer a beginner’s series of workshops that are easy, fun and safe. We will be presenting four of the most common partner dance styles done at events such as parties, weddings, special events, social gatherings, or even your own living room. You may sign up for individual workshops or take all four. These workshops are for beginning dancers, or for those who would like to brush up on the basics.
Each workshop will provide at least two hours of instruction (with breaks) and guided practice time.
Nov 8 – SWING. This fun and energetic dance is a great place to start your partner dance adventures!
Nov 15 – FOXTROT. One of the old standards, Foxtrot is a dance that gives you the opportunity to gracefully and playfully move around the dance floor with your partner.
Nov 29 – WALTZ. This is a beautiful, flowing dance that you will find at almost every dance event. Waltz has been called the “world’s most romantic dance.”
Dec 6 – CHA CHA. This dance is easy to learn and great to have in your dance repertoire. Even though Cha Cha is a Latin dance style, it can be done to many types of music.
Our instructors Nancy & Guy have taught together for almost 30 years and are thrilled to present this series of workshops.
Tuesday, December 13 - “Jazz Movement, Solo and Partnered”
Instructor: Guy Caridi
If you enjoyed Guy’s jazz dance workshops on Zoom the last couple of years, here’s an opportunity to participate in person! We’ll explore simple, fun movements that will bring awareness and joy to your whole body: steps, turns, kicks and taps – classic and vintage jazz movement from the 20’s-50’s. As an added unique bonus, we’ll play with how to dance these solo movements with a partner! Prerequisite: some dance experience recommended.
Guy has been teaching, performing and choreographing for over 29 years. He is a well-known and much appreciated staple in the Seattle dance and musical theater community.
