Come dance with us every Monday at Sonny Newman’s Dance hall! We have DJ’s music from 9:30pm until midnight and the dance is open to people of all ages. We’ll be having class sessions from 7:30 right up until the dance starts. Sorry, we do not offer a beginner drop-in lesson before the dance.
Sonny’s has traditionally provided an opportunity for community members who are interested in DJing to get a start—for new DJs to try out and hone their craft or just be introduced to the Seattle scene. Therefore, you’ll hear a variety of DJs that you won’t hear elsewhere in Seattle, although plenty of Seattle favorites rotate through as well. All levels and experience are welcome!

Blues Underground is on the first and third Fridays of each month at Dance Underground! Each week there’s a free introductory blues lesson at 9:00pm. You’ll enjoy the sweet spinning of DJ greats from 9:45pm-1:00am. Like most Savoy Swing Club events, this event is all ages!
Located at Dance Underground on Capitol Hill amongst the hustle & bustle of bars, restaurants and coffee shops, Blues Underground has been so popular that we expanded it to twice a month at the beginning of 2009. Since it’s a Friday night, the weekend often brings dancers from out of town to enjoy the fun.
