Uptown Throwdown is a Lindy Hop team run by Daniel Newsome and Gabriella Cook designed to bring the energy of old school Lindy Hop together with modern and innovative dance ideas. It is sponsored by Savoy Swing Club.

Uptown Throwdown teaches classes, does community outreach and competes at national competitions with original choreographies.  Members try out for a spot on team and do a year long season, practicing twice a week, performing and competing around the country. Uptown Throwdown has 16 members for 2010, its first year. The team is available for corporate performances and school programs.
