FAQ

How much do classes cost?
For the month long class series + entrance into the social dance from 9:30-12:
$35 for members
$50 for non-members

What if I do not know if I want to participate in the whole class series?
If you are not sure if you would like to take a whole class series, we offer drop in pricing. $15 gets you into one class + the social dance from 9:30-12. If, after dropping in, you decide you would like to continue with the series, the $15 will count toward the fee for the series.

What if I miss a class?
You can make up the number of classes that you missed, although it is not guaranteed that we will be offering the same class topic the next month. Please speak with or email the Classes Coordinator if you have any questions or know you will be missing a class.

Do I need a partner?
No! As for classes, almost all classes we teach allow you to drop in as a single. Singles, and most of the class, will rotate every few minutes, so you’ll get a chance to try dancing with lots of people. We call this social learning theory, and it’s one of the best way s to learn to dance. If you don’t want to rotate, you don’t have to. Of course when going out for a night of dancing, nobody needs a partner so long as they have the courage to ask others to dance (Please don’t be shy!).

What should I wear?
You will find a variety of styles on swing dancers, but a good rule of thumb is to dress nice and semi-casual, with clothes in which you can move comfortably and look good as well. Look your best and you will have an easier time getting to know the swing dance community. For classes, remember you will be moving so wear something comfortable and wear well-padded shoes that don’t fall off to protect your feet.
